In September 2022, storm water upgrades were completed including ditch grading with raised elevations to efficiently carry storm water to mitigate flooding conditions during peak flows. This will help in resolving significant water pooling and surcharge issues in the SW and NE quadrants of the Town. Repairs were also completed to the three existing storm gates along Sawridge Creek (behind the hospital) to ease its operation along with installation of check valves in the storm outfalls to limit backflows in our system during peak season. This project was entirely funded by the one-time capital grant Municipal Stimulus Program funded through the Gas Tax Fund in 2021.
