Speed, and the perception of speed, is a consistent concern the Town of Slave Lake has heard from residents. Based on this concern, Council is currently contemplating a Town-wide reduction in the unposted speed limit from 50 km/h to 40 km/h to increase public safety and livability, reduce the potential for collisions, and align itself with other jurisdictions across the province like the City of Calgary, City of Edmonton, and City of St. Albert. Council and Administration would like to hear from residents on what their thoughts are about the proposed speed reduction.
