Project Background

The Town of Slave is in the process of updating the town's Municipal Development Plan (MDP) and Land Use Bylaw (LUB) to reinforce the ability of these documents to effectively and efficiently guide the use and development of land within the town.

The Municipal Development Plan (MDP) communicates the long-term desired land use framework for the community, and serves as a high-level roadmap for how the community is planned to change over time.

The Land Use Bylaw (LUB) is the document that governs the town's land uses and development. The LUB uses a wide range of regulations that influence individual properties, including the size of the land and buildings, the requirements for site design, and the uses permitted, among other factors.

We’re pleased to share the Phase 4 “What We Heard Report” for the ongoing Municipal Development Plan and Land Use Bylaw Re-Write Project. This report highlights the feedback received during recent public engagement and outlines the key themes that will help shape the next steps in the project.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to share their input. Your voice continues to guide the future of planning and development in our community.
